A call has been launched for the selection and funding of scientific events on Inclusion and Equity in Medicine and Biomedical Research, to be held between June and November 2026.

The A_IATRIS Association is launching this call to select and support initiatives for discussion, networking, and dissemination, aimed at strengthening collaboration between institutions, researchers, and stakeholders, and at promoting the integration of inclusive and equitable approaches in biomedical research and its applications for public health.

The events targeted by this call must be in the form of workshops or scientific courses conducted in English, held either in person or in hybrid format, and co-organized by multiple Institutes affiliated with A_IATRIS, with the possible involvement of partners from European research infrastructures, patient associations, and stakeholders.

Proposals must fall within one of the five macro-areas outlined in the call, in line with the interests and expertise of the Infrastructure’s Platforms, integrating cross-cutting themes inspired by the principles of inclusion and equity, promoting biological diversity, and taking into account the needs of vulnerable groups.

The call provides funding of up to €15,000 (VAT included) for each selected event. To apply, the application form must be completed and the proposal submitted to the email address eatris@iss.it by 7:00 PM on May 15, 2026.

A_IATRIS recognizes the central role of the next generation of scientists in advancing translational research and translating scientific knowledge into tangible applications for public health, fostering innovation and maximizing the impact of biomedical research.

Through the A_IATRIS Young Researchers Award, A_IATRIS aims to support and promote emerging talent within the national scientific community by recognizing researchers at the early stages of their careers who distinguish themselves through the high quality of their scientific output and their contribution to advancing knowledge in strategic areas of translational medicine.

The award is open to researchers under the age of 40 affiliated with A_IATRIS Institutes who are first or last authors of original publications indexed in PubMed and published within the 12 months preceding the launch of the call, in areas relevant to the Infrastructure’s Platforms.

The call provides for the awarding of prizes of € 3,000 each, to be used for research purposes.

To apply, candidates must complete the application form and submit their proposal to eatris@iss.it no later than 7:00 PM on 9 September 2026.
